Swap Pools dramatically improve how you view and manage late swaps in SaberSim. As a bonus, we've used the same infrastructure to overhaul the Hand Builder functionality, making it significantly more practical for everyday use.
What Are Swap Pools?
Swap Pools give you complete visibility into all available lineup variations when running late swaps or building custom lineups. Instead of navigating lineup pool filters or hunting for the lineups you built, everything is now organized in one intuitive interface.
Late Swap Improvements
New Swap Pool View
When you expand any lineup in late swap, you'll now see a swap counter in the upper right corner showing how many versions of that lineup were generated. Click this counter to open the Swap Pool view.
- The selected lineup - the version currently chosen for this contest
- The original lineup - what you initially entered
- All available swap options - every variation built by the optimizer
Each lineup card shows the delta (difference) from your original lineup based on your scoring method (ROI or SaberScore). This makes it easy to understand why the optimizer chose a particular swap and whether you want to override that decision.
Already Selected Indicator
Lineups already being used elsewhere in your portfolio are highlighted with an "already selected" indicator. Hover or click to see exactly which contests are using that specific lineup.
Compact View Support
The feature works seamlessly in both expanded and compact views. In compact view, hover over the green swap arrows to see the swap count, then click to access the full Swap Pool.
Manual Swap Selection
Found a swap you prefer? Simply lock it in, and the Portfolio Diversifier will recalculate your entire entry to maintain optimal diversification across all contests. This is especially useful for single entries or high-stakes lineups where you want more control over specific swap decisions.
Hand Builder Pools
The Hand Builder received a major upgrade using the same Swap Pool infrastructure. Previously, building lineup variations would dump them into your lineup pool with no easy way to review or compare them. Now, the process is streamlined and intuitive.
How It Works
- Either start with a pre-built lineup and remove players you don't want, or handbuild a lineup from scratch by locking your first player in
- Specify how many variations to build (e.g., 10 new options)
- Click "Build Lineups"
When building completes, you're automatically taken to a Swap Pool view showing:
- Your original lineup with removed players clearly marked
- All newly built variations
- The ability to lock in your favorite option
The lineup you select is added to your lineup group with all alternative versions preserved in its swap pool. This makes it easy to iterate on lineup construction, especially when you're playing a smaller number of entries or want more hands-on control for high-stakes contests.
Additional Improvements
As part of this update, we've also fixed several bugs that could occasionally cause late swap to generate entries files with upload errors on DraftKings, FanDuel, and other sites. Late swap should now be more stable and reliable overall.
Use Cases
Swap Pools shine when you want to:
- Review swaps before lock when you have a particular team with a sweat
- Hand-pick swaps for high-stakes lineups where you want more control
- Build multiple variations around a core you like using the Hand Builder
