How do I make my lineups more diverse?

Written by Jordan Chand

To increase your lineup diversity, use some combination of: using Portfolio as your Diversity setting, increasing the Sim Diversity slider, setting individual player exposures, setting a global max exposure, or setting Min Uniques for lineups that differ by a set number of players.

Use Portfolio Diversity: The Portfolio Diversifier picks lineups that depend on different game outcomes, so a single slate result doesn't sink all of them. We backtested it against Min Uniques and global exposure caps and it produced better ROI with less downside. This is the best balance of upside and diversity SaberSim has to offer, and is the default behavior on SaberSim.

Raise your sim diversity slider: Higher settings build each lineup from fewer simulations, so outlier game scripts show up more. This will increase the variance and diversity of the types of lineups you see in your overall pool, but may not increase the diversity of what lineups get selected for your contests.

Set individual player exposures: After identifying the individual player exposures that seem to high to you, set a max exposure. This will re-select your lineups, ensuring players are not rostered in a higher percentage of your lineups than this constraint.

Set a global max exposure: Set a global max exposure so that no player can be rostered in a higher percentage of your lineups than what you set. This is a blunt, global setting, that will apply max exposures to all of the players in the pool.

Change to Min Uniques and set a high min unique value: This guarantees that lineups must be X players different from each other lineup in the set, where X is the Min Uniques number. High Min Uniques settings will typically go above and beyond the diversity that Portfolio will, though it will likely sacrifice ROI in the process.
